EN 186 Visa: Direct Entry Stream

Enables employers to fill critical roles with skilled overseas talent who may not have previously worked in Australia.

  • Positive Skills Assessment to verify qualifications and experience in the nominated occupation.
  • Employer Nomination for an eligible position on the relevant skills occupation list. 
  • Qualifications and Work Experience – At least three years relevant to the occupation.
  • Age limit – Set at 45 years, with limited exemptions.
  • English Proficiency – Competent English is required, via testing unless exempt.
  • Health and Character Tests Apply

Generally required to demonstrate no suitably qualified Australian worker is available for the role.

No prior sponsorship or transition period required. Skilled overseas workers are engaged for Permanent Residence directly.
